Roy Fox And His Band play a spirited version of the well known song "Over My Shoulder", composed by Harry M. Woods. At the time of the recording, May 1934, the Roy Fox band was engaged at the Cafe de Paris in London's West End.
The most interesting instrumental feature of this side is a 'hot fountain pen' solo. The hot fountain pen is of course associated with Adrian Rollini, who also popularised the Couesnophone (which he nicknamed the "Goofus").
I am not 100% sure who is playing the hot fountain pen solo heard here, but it might be tenor sax man Harry Gold, who was an ardent admirer of Adrian Rollini and bought a bass sax from him! I don't think it can be Rex Owen, as I'm pretty sure he's playing the 8 bar baritone sax solo in between the two part hot fountain pen solo.
