After servicing this boxed Rotel RVC230 (Cybernet 134 lower tier chassis) from 1981, it was time to test it. This is one of those sets that we see only from time to time with receive around 0.19uV for 10dB SINAD & a full 4W output too. You don't see that kind of performance on current new sets.

Mr Chippie drove along our usual 6-mile test route, the 'wrong side' of a hill. He stopped at the five mile point for a low power static test. The radio was set for 4.0W on full power & 0.4W (400mW) on low power. A standard replacement mike was used throughout. At the end, the factory original microphone was also demonstraded through to our base station.

Our continued thanks to Thunderpole for kindly supplying the T3000 radio (and new mike) which is fitted to the test vehicle at no cost to us. This is the sole reason for the 'paid promotion' marker on this video.
