At this pivotal moment in psychedelics research, we have an opportunity to stop, look around, and audit the stories that the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic industries tell; about why we suffer and what helps. Drawing on her interviews with many leading voices in mental health and psychedelics, Rose will explore the problem of healer hubris, the scientific dubiousness of the diagnostic system, and trauma as a new reductionism.

Rose Cartwright is a writer whose memoir, Pure, about her life with intrusive sexual thoughts, was adapted for Channel 4. She is a screenwriter and producer on the Netflix sci-fi series, 3 Body Problem. Her non-fiction book about psychedelics, The Maps We Carry, was published by HarperCollins in 2024.
