The Ring Mailbox sensor is wireless sensor that runs on 3AAA batteries. In my testing the batteries lasted over a year. It's important to note that the Ring Mailbox Sensor also requires the Ring Bridge for operation. The Mailbox Sensor connects to the Ring Bridge wirelessly and then the Ring Bridge connects to your wifi network so you can interact with the Ring Mailbox sensor on the Ring App.
