In this Ridstar Q20 Electric Bike Review, we show you what comes in the box and tell you about our experience with this electric bike.
The first thing we were very happy with was how easy the Ridstar was to assemble. The instructions are very clear, and we had it ready to ride in about an hour.
The Ridstar Q20 in this video is the 1500 Watt, but it also comes in other wattages, including 1000 Watts and 1200 Watts.
The Ridstar looks great, and it's a lot of fun to ride. There are a number of settings on the bike that you can experiment with. One of the settings allows the bike to reach its full speed, which is approximately 33 MPH. We show you how to access the different settings on the Ridstar, and we reveal what you need to do to allow the Ridstar to reach its full speed.
The Ridstar Q20 does come with a headlight, taillight, and even a horn. It has a digital display with an odometer, and it allows you to see your speed as you're riding.
The maximum distance the Ridstar can go on a full charge is 75 miles, but that will depend on your weight and how you're riding. According to Ridstar specifications, the bike can go 50 miles in pure electric mode, but some people say they can only go about 25 miles before recharging. Regarding how you are riding, you can have the bike set to full electric, pedal assist, and pedal only.
The charging time for the Ridstar is between 4 and 6 hours.
The Ridstar comes with keys for both the ignition and the battery. Once the battery is attached, you can lock it, so you need the keys to remove it.
Ridstar says the Q20 is perfect for people between 5'4" and 6'2". It features 20 x 4 inch tires and has dual hydraulic disk brakes.
Regarding reviews of this bike, the 1500 Watt is currently at 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon but only has 38 reviews. A few people have reported issues with this Ridstar electric bike, but most of the reviewers say that the company helped them to resolve their issues and that Ridstar's customer service is great.
The 1000 Watt Ridstar Q20 currently has a 4.3 out of 5 stars rating and has a total of 294 ratings.
Although the instructions for assembly of the Ridstar are clear, the settings are not as easy to figure out. I had to watch some videos from Ridstar owners to figure out how to adjust the settings.
One of the cons about the Ridstar is the maintenance. You are going to have to replace brake pads and tires at some point, and the brakes can get expensive.
One important question is: How long will the bike last you? I found a reviewer that's still using it after about 1 year and 735 miles, and he says it's still going strong. He was using the same tires but had to replace the brake pads. He also said the battery hadn't had too much degradation.
After watching many reviews others have made on the Ridstar Q20, I'd say the things you'll need to replace after 6 months to a year are brake pads and tires. It seems like the battery still works well at a year for some people.
Most people say this electric bike is a great bike for the price.
