Applications are now open for Firefighter and Paramedic/Firefighter positions for the 2026-2 Academy!
South Metro Fire Rescue serves 287 square miles across Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson counties and operates 30 fire stations. Members have opportunities to be part of specialized teams including Dive, Hazmat, ARFF, and Technical Rescue. Line personnel work a 48/96 rotating shift schedule.
Firefighter applicants must:
• Be 18 years old by the hire date
• Have a valid FireTEAM test score
• Upload a valid CPAT certificate with their application
Paramedic/Firefighter applicants must:
• Be 21 years old by the hire date
• Upload a valid CPAT certificate
• Possess a Colorado State Paramedic Certification or National Registry Paramedic Certification, along with other required certifications
