Endowments have a unique ability to improve the sustainability higher education institutions. And, given the functions of research, education, and job preparation that higher education institutions serve, it is reasonable to suggest that the Federal Reserve should consider higher education institution endowments as potential Primary Dealers or partners in executing monetary policy. Capital injections could be focused on higher education in the future in such a way that would reduce the likelihood of inflation and increase the positive impact on society.
