In this series, we recreate recipes from a 16th-century Indian alchemical treatise, the Rasaprakāśasudhākara (The Nectar Mine Light on Mercury). In its eleventh chapter, this text describes the making of alchemical gold and silver, pearls and coral.

This experiment focusses on a recipe for making copper look like gold. The video shows our renewed (and ultimately failed!) attempt at recreating the recipe. We are revisiting the recipe here, and our initial discussions and attempts can be seen on this video: youtu.be/UKQW8nDq2sA
