Hey guys ,here's a review of my 40° ECON Burrow zip. HG has recently changed a few things on the Burrow line, and in this vid you can see the new down tube layout that ALL Burrows will now have and the switch from a snap closure footbox to a zip closed design on quilts that aren't a sewn footbox. This is an Econ Burrow, so it's made with ION fabric that HG sources from Dutchweargear instead of either Argon .67 or .90. The ION fabric is slightly heavier but still calendered, DWR treated and very comfortable . Also, the Econ line uses 800fp duck down instead of 850 goose. Again, it's a little heavier but the quilt is just as warm and it saves you money. This particular Burrow is a 40°, standard length /width in dark olive and black. It has 7.82oz of fill, is 74" long × 50" wide and weighs 16.5oz total. A non-Econ , "regular" Burrow the same length/width, uses 7.14oz of goose down and weighs approximately 13.74 oz depending on which footbox style and weight of Argon fabric you choose. So the Econ is heavier, but costs A LOT less and will keep you just as warm..... PERFECT for someone on a budget or just getting into hammocking that doesn't need a lightweight setup or that does mostly car camping vs hiking.
