Another fan-piece, designed with Genesis-era instrumentation. This piece gives a nod to the handheld Sonic games (Advance and Rush series) with the style and a little bit of the instrumentation. 10 points to anyone who can pinpoint which games/levels directly inspired this one.
------------------------
The imagined setting is the cliffs next to a shore-line during sunset. The level would have Sonic make his way down the landscape, closer and closer to the water's edge. In the distance, we can see a vast beach front with many recreational cruise liners anchored in the bay, and straw gazebos lining the beach. Think Angel Island Zone from Sonic 3, but with more oceanic elements and a lot less jungle.
The level would likely be earlier on in-game, so there are no particularly fatal hazards for this stage- typical tropical/beach themed badniks, a few patches of spikes here or there, and a few shallow pools of water. Level is complete with standard platforming elements, loop-de-loops, springs, etc.
As Sonic nears the end of the stage, he enters a partially underground cove section, which obscures the view of the beach front and the sunset. Inside, Sonic encounters a standard mini-boss fight as per Sonic 3&K standards.
After completing the boss fight and receiving the score for the stage, Sonic begins Act 2...
