Essentially the "Green Hill" of my compositions, this simple piece would be the very first stage, were it to become a full-fledged game.
Musically, it is inspired by several first-levels of various platform games, the most predominant being Birabuto Kingdom of MSuper Mario Land on GB (most easily heard in the chromatic turn-arounds and lead-ins).
This vast and open meadow is home to abnormally large dandelions, the size of small trees (think of the mushrooms from Mushroom Hill, Sonic 3&K). They fill the majority of the background, like a thick green and yellow forest, with a pale blue sky. A winding river can be seen leading into the horizon in the background.
Being the first level, the stage would be pretty linear, with a few small tiered sections here and there. Standard hazards, such as spikes and pits, are present but limited. Enemies would include various insect-themed badniks, such as “buzzbombers,” “catikillers,” “motobugs,” etc.
The main gimmick of the stage is, of course, the oversized dandelions. These large flowers (or weeds, if you want to be picky) gently sway back and forth in the breeze in the background and foreground of the level, some being interactive and acting as platforms. There are no effects or hazards to the large yellow flowers themselves, but upon landing on them, they emit small puffs of yellow pollen. Standing on the edge of the flower causes it to tilt slowly in that direction, eventually leading in Sonic slipping off.
After the obligatory miniboss (I'm thinking something along the lines of a giant robotic bee or butterfly, to go with the flower theme), Sonic would progress to Act 2, where the dandelions have turned into "puffballs"- with their seeds being carried up into the wind.
