Another fan-piece, designed with Genesis-era instrumentation. This piece gives a nod to the handheld Sonic games (Advance and Rush series) with the style and a little bit of the instrumentation. 10 points to anyone who can pinpoint which games/levels directly inspired this one.
------------------------
Sonic emerges from the cove area to find that he has made it to the water's edge. The sun has completely set, and a celebration has begun! Fireworks light up the night sky in the background, and the entire bay is aglow with various neon hues. All of the cruise liners are brightly lit, and the beach is illuminated with strings of party lights. The whole bay has come to life for the celebration.
Sonic makes his way across the well lit beach front, defeating more of the standard badniks and avoiding minimal traps and hazards. Sonic makes his way from the beach to the cruise ships by running along the strings of lights stretching from area to area, and by hitching rides (and gaining air) on fireworks being launched into the sky. Players must utilize platforming strategies to carefully get from ship to ship- falling into the ocean results in loss of a life (i.e. bottomless pit).
Sonic makes his way to the largest ship anchored in the bay- an oversized, and flamboyantly decorated war ship, not-so-cleverly disguised by Robotnik as a party-cruise- complete with neon lights forming a stylized Robotnik face on the side. This ship is the source of all the badniks harassing the beachfront, and Dr. Robotnik is using it as a temporary base of operations to roboticize the local wildlife and terrorize the locals. Upon reaching main deck, Sonic confronts Robotnik in a boss fight, defeating him and foiling his plans.
