The forest fires in BC have made observations impossible for the last couple months. Finally I can see across the lake, but now there are other environmental challenges to overcome.

Flat Earth: Super Speed 4 Hour Time Lapse! (say when its a globe!)

$Two Camera Heights - Supplemental Footage From Observation #13 Shelter Bay Ferry (May 30th, 2021). I decided to keep this time lapse separate because it was in between heights, and a 3-way never works out as good as it sounds. This is about 2.5 hours of footage sped up very fast. This camera is my old, damaged Panasonic V180K which still takes decent but very washed out video. There is some end of observation footage from the 2 meter camera in this video, and some that I saved for the final. My next video will further explain the point of all this and why I chose this particular observation. Im providing some footage with clear, reasonably measurable obstruction (at times) cause by either physical blockage by water, or by refraction - specifically upward refraction, or by some other unknown effect. So I would like to see some comments from globe proponents about where the physical horizon would be if we could see it, and things to that effect. If there is not enough information to make any claims about obstruction from Earth curve, then let me know how I can improve my observations in order to show evidence for a globe - besides getting much higher and looking much farther. Plenty of people are doing and have done that! Details: Camera height: 4 - 5 meters Second camera height (end footage): 2 - 2.5 meters. Target distance: 18.5 km Time of recording: About 1 pm to 4 pm Conditions: Sunny, very warm afternoon. Slight breeze picked up and clouds rolled in towards the end of the observation. About the lines: Vertical blue lines represent an angle of about 0.037 degrees or about 12 meters at that distance. Use this as a scale reference. Yellow line is a rough estimate of my camera level and a reference for mirage movement.$ $Flat? Sure, but is it level? A quick look at a small paver patio with my cell phone camera, able to get low and level with the surface. Using only this short observation, can you determine the true shape of this flat surface? What about refraction?$ $Another 21 Minutes (Of not Superior Mirage) A detailed real time look at an interesting part of a 6 hour observation (12km point #7). This video asks more questions than it answers, but it is just another starting point for a greater discussion about superior/inferior mirages and refraction in general. From this point I will go forward or backward in the observation depending on what I feel the need to show to illustrate the no superior mirage reasoning. $Same Lake, Different Day - Super Fast Long Low Black Swan Time Lapse (SFLLBSTL) From observation #5, April 2nd 2020. No expectations of good visibility on this day as I planned to just tweak my camera time lapse setup, on what I thought would be an endless strong inferior mirage day. There is nothing wrong with my camera (besides being the worst of my cameras for picture quality and audio) it was in focus and not even fully zoomed. Thats just how it looks sometimes. 100% refraction. Even though black swan observations are incredibly common for me on this lake, this one was a bit unexpected due to the air temperature being much cooler than the water, (6-8°C air, 8-9°C water) and no reason (that I can see) for a strong temperature inversion over the lake. I recorded extreme concave/compressed appearance for the entire 4 hours from 3 camera heights. Whats most puzzling to me is how these sequences never even get close to anything that could be considered obstruction by a water horizon. Foreground and background seem to move in unison much of the time, despite a 7 km difference in distance. Interesting too, how strong the distortion from refraction is - on such a day with no direct sun and plenty of wind to mix the air layers. More on this observation coming soon.$
