This World Health Summit 2025 Global Health Lab session – co-hosted by the Max Planck Society – explored how early-stage biomedical translation could be strengthened. The discussion was moderated by Christian Doeller (Max Planck Society). It examined how basic and clinical researchers could work together more effectively and which shifts were needed to make translational pathways more coherent and efficient.
The Speakers, Soumya Swaminathan (M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation), Emrah Düzel (German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, DZNE), and Bettina Martin (German Federal State Minister for Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs) discussed the role of interdisciplinary collaboration, start-ups, incubators, and adaptive regulatory environments. They highlighted how these elements could help accelerate the development of new biomedical solutions.
