🚩 What’s really stopping you from showing up to your art… is it lack of time, or is it Resistance?
Resistance shows up for all of us.
Not just beginners. Not just “insecure” artists.
Every single one of us who cares about what we’re creating feels it.
It can sound like:
“I’m not good enough.”
“What’s the point?”
“I’ll start tomorrow.”
“This has to be perfect.”
And then somehow… days (or even weeks) go by without creating.
Here’s the thing. Being an artist is challenging for so many different reasons:
👉 We’re usually working on our own, without a boss or team guiding us
👉 Our work is deeply personal… it’s an extension of who we are
👉 Growth means constantly stepping outside our comfort zone
👉 Sharing our work takes real courage
👉 We open ourselves up to criticism (often unrequested)
👉 And if you’re taking this seriously, it requires a deep belief that what you have to offer actually matters
So yeah… when Resistance shows up, it can feel intense.
And it doesn’t help that so many of us were taught to put our creative desires last. To treat art as something optional. Something we’ll get to “later.”
But if art is something that keeps calling you back… it deserves more than leftover time and energy.
It deserves your commitment.
🌟 This is why building a strong mindset matters just as much as improving your technical drawing and painting skills.
Because mindset is what helps you:
– sit down even when you don’t feel like it
– move forward even when self-doubt is loud
– stay consistent through all the ups and downs
You don’t need to get rid of Resistance.
You just need to notice it… and create anyway.
Even if it’s messy.
Even if it’s imperfect.
Even if it’s just 10 minutes today.
Your art doesn’t need perfection.
It just needs you to show up. 💛
