🛑 The truth about making a living as an artist:

Growing your art income takes time and very few people are lucky to be in a financial situation where they are able to focus their efforts solely on developing their skills and selling the art they feel the desire to create.

BUT making a living through your work IS doable if you're strategic and are willing to keep at it over time, while juggling life responsibilities.

So many people wanting to make a sustainable income through their art stay stuck, still believing in the two extremes:

🌟 The famous artist, making a fortune selling originals
💔 The starving artist, barely scraping by

But the reality? Most artists making a living from their work fall *somewhere in between.*

👉 The working artists you admire likely aren’t famous or earning six figures from art sales alone.

👉 They’re juggling life responsibilities, multiple income streams, and sometimes even “regular” jobs—*while still prioritizing their art.*

👉 They show up consistently, accept that growth is slow and steady, and do what it takes to support their lives and their creative practice in a realistic way.

Yes, it’s hard work to juggle it all. But if you’re someone who feels unfulfilled when you’re not creating and growing as an artist—IT'S WORTH EVERY OUNCE OF EFFORT.

I had regular jobs for years. I started selling art on the side until my early thirties and didn’t go full-time with my art business until I was 35.

Now, I make a living doing what I love: creating art and helping others move forward in their own journeys. 💕

No natural skill or "talent". No family of artists. No financial cushion. Just persistence, passion, and a deep desire to grow—right where I was, with what I had.👩‍🎨

✨ You’ve got this. Keep going.
