Nowadays water-based acrylic paints are legion, lots of ranges exist and there is no shortage of choice, but do solvent-based enamels still hold their own? Plenty of modellers still use them, so I coupled a range of enamel paints and products with Bronco's 1/35th scale Staghound Armoured car to see how they compare. This is part one in a build and paint series featuring the Staghound.

Note that I use enamels for a variety of tasks but I don't often use them for base coats, only getting them out occasionally - like here.

In this video, I build and customise the Bronco scale model kit: adding cast metal textures, weld seams and some resin upgrades from Belgian manufacturer Resicast.

Using narration and desk commentary, I walk you through construction and painting - including the use of now discontinued Testors products like their enamels and Aztek airbrush, which is a unique piece of kit. Time for some Old Skool modelling content which I partly shot over 8 years ago and am only releasing now.

Please note the paints and A470 Aztek airbrush were supplied by Testors Corporation for review and sadly neither product is available any longer.
