I'm SO grateful I finally got to experience the PS1 original version of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, because this playthrough completely changed how I look at this entry. Going in, my main point of reference was RE3 remake, but the original gave me the missing piece I needed to understand what this game was doing for the franchise. It feels like a gorgeous blend of what I loved from Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 2, with Jill Valentine fighting her way through Raccoon City, Nemesis refusing to leave us in peace, and just enough extra action, dodging, ammo crafting, and chaos to show where the series was starting to move next. Revisiting the Raccoon Police Department felt like coming home to a burning building, while the Clock Tower and Park gave me exactly the kind of classic Resident Evil exploration, puzzles, and atmosphere I was hoping for. By the time Jill and Carlos were trying to escape, Umbrella's corruption felt bigger than ever, Raccoon City felt doomed in a way the series could not walk back from, and I *then* understood why this game matters so much. I can only imagine grinding Mercenaries mode back in the day, chasing unlocks, earning those epilogues, and slowly piecing together even more of the story after the credits rolled. I'm a sucker for the original version of most things, but especially with this one, the difference from my RE3 remake experience was night and day! Thank you all for watching and I hope you enjoyed seeing Resident Evil 3 through my eyes in 2025 💛
