Chaos Shadow | RepliCant - Sacrifice @MmeCShadow | Uploaded October 2012 | Updated October 2024, 15 hours ago.
RepliCant version of the fight in the Aerie. Wendy battle left mostly in tact because, well... didn't go terribly long.
It impresses me that NIER, as a JRPG, can have these really powerful moments but doesn't need to dwell on them. This and the Loyal Cerberus footage are both about fifteen minutes long and still include gameplay; most any other JRPG would have spent those fifteen minutes on a single cutscene trying to tell you what a tragedy life is. It just shows you what's what and lets you react how you naturally would and then lets you get back to the actual gameplay.
Momentum. Something a lot of RPGs -- JRPGs especially -- really need to learn.
