Watch a replay of Spaceflight Now's live coverage of the first launch attempt for the latest version of SpaceX's revolutionary Starship launcher on the 12th test flight for the program. Liftoff of the Version 3 integrated Starship vehicle from a new launch pad at Starbase in Texas was scrubbed due to ground system problems on Thursday, May 21.
The mission will see splashdowns of the Super Heavy booster (Booster 19) in the Gulf of Mexico and the Starship upper stage (Ship 39) in the Indian Ocean.
The Starship upper stage will deploy 20 Starlink simulators, similar in size to next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, and two specially modified Starlink satellites that will attempt to beam back imagery of Starship's thermal tiles.
Our live coverage was hosted by Will Robinson-Smith. He was joined by Stephen Clark, a space reporter at Ars Technica and Micah Maidenberg, reporter at The Wall Street Journal.
Camera support from our friends at Avid Space @LabPadre and C & J Images.
