Shoulders beat up from years of heavy pressing? The decline dumbbell hammer press is one of my go-to movements for rebuilding pressing strength without constantly aggravating the shoulder joint.
The neutral grip and decline angle put the shoulder in a better position while still hammering the pecs and triceps. The goal isn’t to stop pressing—it’s to find movements you can load, recover from, and rotate into your training.
