Well, thanks to those last week who read my very long post and watched my somewhat exhaustive video.
I learned two things over the last week:
1) Don’t mess with the heads if worn (visually brought things back a little because I already messed with this)
2) Replace all 10 black legged 2SC1344’s with modern equivalents - KSC1845’s.
I will say this thing is quiet and playing like a champ tonight.
While I didn’t record this, the recording/playback levels are nearly flat when I give it a straight 1K tone.
Probably needs all new capacitors and such but it’s 10 fold better than what I bought at Goodwill for $4.99.
