Here is an overview, build tips and demo of the actuators in use.
good for planes up to around 1oz, they weigh approx 1.5g, resistance approx 50ohms.
The magnet(s) in the middle should be as strong as available, for the greatest pull force when in use.
The pieces can be cut to the right size with pliers. 1 of the disk magnets shown will enable 3 pieces (wasn't too well explained) or you can use just 1 piece of a stronger magnet.
Fiddly and time consuming to make, but well worth it when they are doing their job in flight. I've had no failures yet from this simple method, having used them quite extensively during this summer.
