About Fischer-Z
Fronted by singer-songwriter John Watts, Fischer-Z emerged in the late 1970s as part of the UK new wave movement. Known for combining post-punk energy with politically aware lyrics and strong pop sensibilities, the band achieved international success with songs like The Worker, So Long, and Marliese. Over the decades, John Watts has continued to evolve Fischer-Z both as a band and solo project, maintaining a distinctive voice within European rock.

Following in the footsteps of Tinariwen, Imarhan bridges the gap between ancient desert culture and contemporary life. In this exclusive session, recorded in 2026 for the Dutch TV show 2 Meter Sessies, the band performs tracks from their latest repertoire, including songs reflecting on their home studio Aboogi and their album Aboogi (Essam).
