This is Remake It! Where we take another look at characters in Smash Bros. whose fighter designs have aged poorly, wandered too far out-of-character, or could otherwise benefit from a revisit, then theorycraft what a reworked and improved version of their moveset, playstyle, and other details might look like!
Up this time is a Smash long runner with a long legacy who, in some ways, has been held down by that legacy. While Link has had three different designs throughout Smash's history, his moveset has always carried elements of multiple incarnations at a time. On one hand, it's nice having little nods here and there! On the other, it prevents whoever the current Link is from truly getting to show what they themselves are capable of.
What if the next Smash game changed that? Allowing other Zelda characters to base their designs on the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake, while Link gets to embody a pair of games that have become important in their own right! But...what could that look like? Watch on to see how the Hero of the Wild could get a design and moveset all his own!
