A Look Back at Ultimate's Fighters Pass Vol. 2 @Delzethin

We've finally reached the end. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's second and last season of DLC is finished, and the roster now takes its final form. The (more or less) six newcomers therein offer a wide array of characters, movesets, fighting styles, stages, and other content sure to appeal to (almost) everybody in some way, shape, or form.

With Ultimate taking its leave from the spotlight for the foreseeable future, let's spend a moment looking back over the second Fighters Pass. This is a combination of review and retrospective, analyzing how each of the six DLC characters turned out and giving personal thoughts on them, concluding with my thoughts on the creative directions behind DLC and how the Smash community has grown and evolved over these past few years.

$Multiversus Will Not Survive...Unless... After a long hiatus, Multiversus made its grand return this past spring. Officially launching for real this time, the game made a splash with fans of both platform fighters and the massive array of franchises under WBs reign. Yet, not even half a year later, most of that momentum has already been lost. Just like in its quote-quote beta period, a combination of factors has made the playerbase dwindle away to a fraction of what it started out with. It raises a few questions. One, how is MVS squandering its momentum a second time? Two, what about the game is causing players to give up on it again? And three, is there anything the developers at Player First Games can do to save it before it becomes yet another story of a non-Smash platform fighter failing to find sustained success?
