On January 2, 2004, Redstone missile #3508 was removed from its gantry at the Air Force Space and Missile Museum's Pad 26B and placed horizontal on nearby pedestals.
This Redstone was provided from the Huntsville Arsenal in 1964 and placed on display with an original Launch Complex 26 service gantry.
This 2004 video shows that the Redstone was painted with Juno I livery and the marking RSXH, which means "Redstone 01."
In 2009, the Redstone began restoration and was eventually stored in Hangar C. The restoration repainted the missile to the way it looked when it was delivered by the U.S. Army in 1964. The history of the Redstone missile and this artifact are our web site at:
