The Red Chimney is officially back open, nearly a year after an August 2025 fire caused extensive damage to its longtime location in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood.
The popular restaurant reopened Wednesday, Aug. 26, at its new location at 8320 Snow Road in Parma. The restaurant announced the reopening Monday, Aug. 24, saying it was excited to welcome back longtime customers and meet new ones.
The Red Chimney's first day back proved to be a busy one. In a Facebook post at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday, the restaurant announced it had sold out of everything and was closing its doors for the day.
"Our first day back and it’s been amazing !! Because of the incredible support we’ve received, we have decided that we have to close our doors. We Are SOLD out of EVERYTHING!!!! We are beyond grateful for everyone who has supported us, stood by us, and helped us along the way," the restaurant said in a Facebook post.
The restaurant added that it would reopen Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6 a.m.
The move to Parma comes after the Red Chimney's longtime Cleveland location was heavily damaged in the fire last year.
According to the Cleveland Division of Fire, crews were called to the restaurant's building at East 65th Street and Fleet Avenue around 11:15 a.m. Aug. 5, 2025. The fire started in the bedroom of an occupied apartment above the restaurant. The four people living in the apartment were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Although the fire did not reach the Red Chimney itself, Cleveland fire officials said the restaurant suffered extensive water damage. The building sustained about $300,000 in damage.
In February, the restaurant announced it would not return to its original Slavic Village location and instead move to Parma.
"We explored every option to stay in Slavic Village, but the cost to restore our original building exceeded what insurance could cover, making this an incredibly difficult decision," said the Red Chimney in a previous Facebook post.
