Hey guys, so Ive been building this van over the last two years using as much recycled and repurposed material as possible — insulation, flooring, framing, you name it. The goal’s always been simple: build a capable, budget-friendly adventure van without blowing the bank.
This week, I finally upgraded the power system. I installed a LiTime self-heating lithium battery, which means we can safely charge even when the temperatures drop below freezing—a must for cold Canadian mornings or shoulder-season road trips in the Rockies.
With the new power system in place, I also wanted to add more storage. Staying true to the recycled theme, we scavenged enough materials to throw together some simple, functional cabinets in the van. Nothing fancy — just enough to keep things organized and out of the way.
