Good ol’ rock n’roll has been the backbone of heavy music since the very beginning; it was the foundation by which ALL other genres stem from no matter how far down the generational gap. I STILL listen to AC/DC, Dangerous Toys, GNR & even new bands, like Greta Van Fleet who carry that torch proudly. SO, back in early 2024 when inklings of a NEW SA band following in those same footsteps came to my attention, I was EXTREMELY stoked to hear AND SEE what they had to deliver, because GOOD rock bands ALSO have to perform at the highest level. Thus, I took that opportunity back in March 2024 at the 502 Bar to see up n’ comers, REBEL ANGELS (fronted by a long-standing musician I was already familiar with in Mr. Mauricio Adan). To say the VERY least I was impressed by both the bands live prowess & their catchy songs, which had me glued to their set during the entire performance. Thereafter, 2024 continued to be a fruitful year for band with stints on a KENS5 morning show, festival gigs & the first official recorded release, ‘Sucka For You’ this past December. Undoubtedly, RA is currently enjoying massive momentum with a stellar 2025 planned as well which includes a gig at the famed, Whiskey A Go-Go, upcoming singles & a debut EP. I knew it was about time to get my hooks in these guys & get the low-down for the Familia before the action is about to start. SO, on February 22nd, 2025 I took the opportunity to invite the entire band to the RMW Studio to discuss it ALL. In the interview below you will hear us discuss the following: the formation of the band, their genre (& their unique vibe), the name RA, the writing & recording process, their Southside brotherhood, upcoming singles, future shows & MUCH MORE!
