We are going to go through the "Realizing Euclid" test designed and conducted by Bev Try Thinking and Spot On Level.
We will be calculating the predicted outcomes expected for this test under 2 different hypotheses:
Hypothesis #1:
Plumb bobs hang down – parallel to one another.
All risers on a single water level lie along a horizontal plane.
Hypothesis #2:
Plumb bobs hang down towards the center of a sphere – not parallel to one another.
All risers on a single water level are the same distance from the center of the sphere.
We are not accepting either hypothesis as correct at this point. We are only going to evaluate the predictions made by each hypothesis for this test.
I will be asking for audience participation.
