This receiver was purchased to afford the ability to listen to radio and other music in a location which wasn't equipped to do so. Bearing that in mind, a gargantuan 200 watt-per-channel stereo system would be superfluous, since it would be operated at lower listening levels for the bulk of the time.
Though it certainly doesn't claim to rival a higher-end Pioneer or Sansui receiver, it can certainly hold its own. At only 12 watts-per-channel, it won't break windows, but the level at which it performed and compared to similarly appointed receivers in my collection was impressive.
