In this brief video, we'll show you some footage we have of the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad. RBMN Train "PILE" is a freight that runs between Pittston, PA and Lehighton, PA.
This train is nocturnal, leaving Pittston between 8 and 9 pm and returning between 6 and 8 am. We caught the train on two different occasions last year, and we wanted to present you with the footage. It's always a treat listening to these veteran EMD locomotives work up the grade on the RBMN's Lehigh Line.
Feb. 23rd, 2014 - Ex-UP SD50 #5022 leads PILE on this cold night. We'll catch the train at two locations, first in Duryea, PA and then again at Oak St. in Pittston, PA.
April 16th, 2014 - We're set up at Oak St. again in Pittston, PA where we listen to two SD40-2s working their way up the grade.
