On a cloudy Tuesday afternoon, we see NJ Transit Montclair-Boonton Line train 1003 arriving and departing Newark Broad Street station. This is on the Morris & Essex line, which was once the Lackawanna mainline to the Delaware Water Gap and Scranton, PA. Pulling the train is what was once staple of commuter railroading, the EMD F40PH locomotive. There are now only TWO F40PH-2CAT locomotives on the roster these days, and usually can be found on the Hoboken Division.
