Over the past 3 years, I have been riding behind and filming the Reading & Northern's trusty Light Pacific number 425. With 425's federally mandated FRA 1472 day inspection coming up at the end of 2022 and the Reading & Northern's other steam locomotive, Reading 4-8-4 T-1 number 2102 nearing completion, the opportunities to see 425 be the star attraction will be limited. With this being the case, I wanted to look back on all of the times I have seen 425 in action and make one big video showcasing the Blue Pacific on the only portion of the Reading & Northern system that I have seen it on, the Lehigh Line.
This video was filmed on Sunday, June 24, 2018, Saturday, July 6, 2019, Saturday, August 15, 2020, Saturday, September 5, 2020, and Sunday, September 6, 2020.
The whistles worn by 425 were a PRR 3 Chime, Baltimore & Ohio 3 Chime, Reading 6 Chime (from Reading 2102 and will be used on 2102 when in service), Baltimore & Ohio "Tumor Top" 3 Chime, and a Southern Longbell Ps-4 3 Chime respectively.
Special thanks goes out to Joseph Whelan for letting me use his clip at the Lehigh River Bridge for a second angle.
