Obsidian King is the debut album from Canadian band Ravenspell, released today, March 12, 2026, by Fighter Records. Hailing from Quebec City, this new force in heavy metal/speed metal arrives with a sound that captures the raw and epic spirit of 80s metal, blending razor-sharp riffs, frenetic speed, catchy melodies, and an organic production that sounds alive and full of energy.
The album features 10 tracks with a total duration of approximately 40 minutes, filled with epic themes involving watchful gods, war marches, cursed books, everyday warriors (with a humorous touch in "Warrior's 9 to 5"), obsidian wings, infernal storms, and battle-axe apocalypses.
