This is a concept how a portable media player could work. Completely on battery.
This is a short video with a new more efficient voltage regulator and an tripath amplifier on a 12v battery, The multimeter shows the current in amps. On this battery the setup can run for over 10 hours depending on the volume.
The pi runs raspbmc and is connected via wifi to my nas and phone. The android phone uses yatse to control xbmc. In this video the raspi plays some webradio.
The amp is a tripath ta-2020+. Very good amp and sometimes you find it in cheap chinese amps like this 20€ Lepai.
The pi can be connected directly to an android device via wifi to be full portable.
