It might surprise many, but the word rapture doesn’t appear anywhere in the English Scriptures. It’s not Hebrew, not Greek, not even Aramaic and therefore, it’s not found in any of the original manuscripts of Scripture.
So where does it come from?
The word shows up in the Latin Vulgate, the Catholic Church’s translation. The term “rapiemur” comes from rapturo, which means “to be snatched away.”
So in order to even get the word rapture, you have to go through the Latin Vulgate, a Catholic document, not the original inspired texts. Yet today, millions build their entire end-times doctrine around a word that doesn’t even come from the language of the prophets, the apostles, or Yahushua Himself.
