Shaul, called Paul, gives us a powerful image: Israel is the olive tree, and we are either grafted in or cut off. A grafted branch must grow and bear fruit, or it will be removed.
Messiah is the root of that tree. He is the source of life, and the word Mashiach comes from the oil, the anointing oil, pressed from olives.
We are called to be more than just attached. We’re called to abide, to grow, and to produce fruit worthy of the tree we've been grafted into.
