The rapid growth of artificial intelligence is fueling a boom in data centers-powerful centers that run 24 hours a day to generate the tremendous computing power needed for AI. These centers require a vast amount of water and electricity, which has sparked dozens of political battles over where and whether to place new centers. Spectrum News political anchor Errol Louis is joined by Nell Green Nylen, a senior research fellow at the Center for Law, Energy and the Environment, based at the University of California Berkeley, to discuss the politics of powering the AI economy.
