bit.ly/1L7AZ0P Our WitmerLab team has been working for some time on the skull of Dinornis robustus, the extinct South Island giant moa from New Zealand. We've had this specimen (FMNH PA 35) on loan from from the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, and it's being returned soon, so here's a quick farewell video, comparing it to the skulls of living ratites and showing off the transparent 3D print of the restored skull printed at OU's Innovation Center. We've got a manuscript nearing completion on this beast...an all WitmerLab affair with Catherine Early, Don Cerio, Ruger Porter, Ryan Ridgely, and Witmer.
