Random Act of Anatomy video wherein Larry Witmer shows the complete skeleton of an American alligator (OUVC 11684) with a tail pathology, presumably a healed wound after another alligator had bitten off the distal end of the tail. The stump of the tail has a mass of collagenous tissue connected to the remaining last tail vertebra. Witmer compares this alligator's situation with the situation of true tail regeneration in a lizard (green iguana).
