This video was shot in May, 2002, (I think) along the shores of San Pablo Bay northeast of San Francisco. My notes have been lost over the years and I can't find the stills that I shot while the video camera was recording. The camera clicks seem to indicate I was using my now antiquated 35mm film camera. It wasn't long after this date that I switched to a digital SLR. The images are mostly passenger trains (Capital Corridor and San Joaquin) with a southbound Coast Starlight and eastbound California Zephyr thrown in for good measure. While shooting at the end of Piñon Ave, I got a southbound UP freight with SP helpers while an eastbound BNSF freight passed about 25 yards behind me. It's interesting to contrast these images from 12 years ago with more recent ones taken in the same location and available on my channel.
