On Monday, 7/25/16, I rode in the cab of the McCloud River RR #25 now operating on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway in Garibaldi, Oregon. On the outbound trip the locomotive pulls the train 10 miles to Rockaway Beach where there is about a 30 minute layover. Since there is no run around track there, the locomotive pushes the train back to Garibaldi on the return trip. Track speed on this section is only 10 MPH so you won’t hear the engine laboring very hard as it travels the route.
Thanks to the crew for the wonderful experience. Unfortunately, I lost my notes with everyone’s name and cannot name them individually.
