A fresh political controversy has erupted in Punjab after BJP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha’s name was reportedly deleted from the state’s draft electoral rolls during the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

Chadha’s entry has been classified as “shifted” in the draft rolls, even though he says his voter ID is registered in Mohali. He has alleged political vendetta by the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab and questioned the basis on which his name was marked as shifted.
