The last of the RadioShack stores around here are closing. I had my eyes on one of these for a long time, so I figured I'd better get one. And amazingly, not only did they have one, it was also half price! (Okay, they actually had two and I bought both of them, along with a sound level meter kit.)
The effect is simple, but it bitches all the shiznits. It took me about two hours to build it, going slow and being somewhat careful.
The instructions indicate that a twelve volt power supply is to be used. It's running from five volts in this video and I think it's more than bright enough.
I'm so very disappointed that the second iteration of Radio Shack didn't work out. Rest in peace.
