The program is co-hosted by Sandia and Berkeley National Laboratories and seeks to encourage more students to consider Quantum Information Science related majors and careers. Participants get a primer on computing fundamentals, participate in hands-on physics experiments, and apply newly learned skills to solve computing problems in new ways. Funding for QCaMP comes from the DOE Office of Science's Reaching a New Energy Sciences Workforce (RENEW) initiative and is sponsored by the Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS).
