For fifty years, the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center has accelerated scientific progress through high performance computing. From its roots in fusion energy research, NERSC has grown to support the wide portfolio of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science, including 10,000 scientists working on 1,000 projects and publishing around 2,000 scientific results each year.
