Onboard Qatar Airways flight 327 from Doha to London Gatwick on February 2nd 2023. A very busy flight, much to my surprise as every other flight I'd taken as part of this trip to Zanzibar was not. Now I was less than blown away by Qatar Airways and infact found the service on this particular flight nothing more than shambolic. That and the tatty state of the aircraft itself. Check out the surface of the wing! Clear bits of tape, actually raised and not even flush on the wings surface? I mean c'mon. It doesn't look good, nor safe for that matter! Departure was during a busy period in the morning just after 8am, so during our long taxi to RWY16R quite a few shots of departing aircraft speeding passed down the runway. Once airborne and over the water a right turn towards the city of Doha and climbing northbound over the desert. Now the service was incredibly slow on my side of the aircraft in particular and completely out of sync. The right hand side of the aircraft was completed entirely why my side was yet to even be offered a drink during the first service. The crew unfortunately were trying their best, but seemed to be struggling it has to be said. The meal itself was ok, nothing to write home about but this is ecomony so wasn't expecting anything special. Now my biggest annoyance. After landing at Gatwick, while still taxiing passengers were stood up, with lockers open and had their bags down in the aisle - All while the aircraft was STILL MOVING! and the crew in the area at doors 3, did absolutely nothing to prevent this or stop it. Eventually a PA was made by the senior crew member towards the front and crew from the rear of the aircraft came to tell people to take their seats again. But again, the crew at doors 3, did nothing. A huge safety risk, if an evacuation was needed at that point bags would have been blocking the aisle and the lockers were left open, full of luggage while the aircraft is still moving. The crew stood at doors 3 and did nothing, even though we were not on stand and the call had not been made to even put the doors into manual. Not good!
The flight was absolutely nothing to rave about, the service was poor and the aircraft was tatty both inside and out. The seats were uncomfortable and moveable headrest which doesn't bend to the shape of your head like most other airlines was really irritating. All in all I thought Qatar were cr*p it must be said and the only saving grace is that we were ontime.
During the cruise I did try and get some Air to Air shots of the many aircraft passing, some of them are pretty good. Although you've got to be fast and getting the camera to focus on them is a challenge.
