Onboard 23 year old G-VIIU for the first leg of my trip to Zanzibar, where this 777 would take me as far as Doha Hamad. Pushback from Gatwick was ontime at 14:05 and a loud engine start, before taxiing right down to RWY08R for departure. Luckily the flight wasn't busy and the World Traveller Plus cabin was particularly quiet. Listen to the gorgeous GE90 sound during that take off, well worth turning the volume up for. Once airborne dinner was served with a few glasses of bubbles. Fantastic crew onboard, were very attentive and couldn't give us enough to eat or drink. Also very freindly and chatty throughout. Couldn't compliment them anymore.
Within a few hours of take off unfortunately the sunset, albeit stunning, the remainder of the flight was in darkness. That being said, I didn't film much until the descent. But during the descent some great views over Doha city itself. Look out for the Torch Tower lit up right next to the 3-2-1 stadium. Turning for our approach over the water, so not much to see, although we were in parallel with another aircraft, touching down on time into Doha.
